What is Coaching?
Coaching is a dynamic relationship that allows you to take a close look at your life and choose what you want to achieve. Coaching allows you to explore who you really are without the fear of being judged or belittled. A coach works with you and is there when you need support, help following through or a fresh, outside perspective. A coach helps you achieve new things in life and believes in you no matter what.
Is Coaching Therapy?
No, coaching is not therapy or mental health services nor is it a substitute. If you require such services, please contact a local mental health agency or hospital. Coaching focuses on the here and now and how to move forward into the future by taking action. My approach does not focus on the past and why things happen as much as what you can do starting today to change your life.
How Will Coaching Help Me?
Coaching helps you as much as you want it to, all change and effort depends on you. This puts you in the unique position to create as much change as you want in your life. With coaching, you call the shots and you decide how much you want to do. All progress depends on your drive and commitment. I usually work with individuals who are highly motivated to create significant change.
How Many Times Will I Need to See a Coach Before I Notice Changes?
There is no absolute number of sessions you have to plan for. My experience has taught me that people benefit more from ongoing sessions. The reason for this is that it gives them a chance to practice the new behaviors they are learning and reinforce their new way of doing things. I allow clients to decide for themselves how many sessions they need since it varies from person to person. I recommend starting with one session a week for a month or two to create sustainable movement.
